Search Engines Can’t Be Controlled

Filed under: — site admin @ 6:47 pm

Search engines are one of those things in life that can’t be controlled. Life is full of things that can’t be controlled. We can’t control who we’re related to, or whether or not the sun will shine and we certainly can’t control how other people on the road drive. A search engines’survival depends on the quality of their searches. They’re not about to try and make you happy even if you think you deserve it if mking you happy affects the quality of their results. If their search results aren’t good their bottom line will be affected and in the end their long term survival. Search engines can’t be controlled they are the controllers.

Search engine marketing professionals do not own search engines. They can tell you, and they do tell you, that you will achieve a no.1 ranking on a given search engine. The bottom line is there is no way they can make that happen. Search engines can’t be controlled.

Telling your search engine marketing people that you want to be no.1 in Yahoo will not guarantee you such a result. Your search engine marketing people can help you increase the chances of ranking higher but that is far from a guarantee. YOur search engine consultant doesn’t control the search engine so they can’t guarantee your ranking. If you don’t control the medium you can’t control the result. It’s as simple as that. Unfortunately, some people do learn to control search engines through less than ethical means. Cheating and trickery will, in the end, be caught by search engines and will, in the end, get one banned for life from using them. The end result will be a return to the 9 to 5 routine. It’s best just to accept that search engines can’t be controlled.

Ranking algorithms of search engines are closely guarded secrets. If everyone knew the secret there would be no point in having them. The aim of search engines is not to give a top ranking to a site that was able to beat the system, but rather to give a top ranking to the site that best matches the search query of an individual visitor. Search engines can’t be controlled. Good quality content will, however, bring you one step closer to achieving the ranking you’re looking for from a search engine. The value of real search engine marketing can be controlled … by you.

Using Remote Site Syndication (RSS) to Make Money

Filed under: — site admin @ 6:46 pm

You may already know that RSS stands for Remote Site Syndication, but what does that really mean to you and more importantly, how can you use RSS to help you make more money?

Simply put, RSS feeds are written in XML, a special mark up language much like html. That means that they have mechanisms included that identify structures in a document. The structures define the content and how that content will be displayed within that document. RSS is what makes big news websites possible: RSS files are used to create a data feed which will deliver headlines, links or virtually any other piece of information to a channel viewer application, commonly called a news reader.

These readers are subscribed to certain RSS feeds and constantly monitor them, alerting the user when every any new information has been added to the feed. So, how can you use this to your advantage as an internet marketer? Here are the most popular ways to integrate RSS feeds into your marketing effort: you can use RSS to replace any email marketing you are currently doing, take advantage of RSS feeds to drive traffic to your blog or sales site or create your own RSS feed so your messages and information show up on thousands of websites, blogs and desktops online.

Although many marketing gurus will claim that email marketing isn’t dead, with the advent of increasing spam complaints and filters coupled with the threat of viruses originating from an email, more and more people are leery of even opening your email. So even if you have a large email list, the likelihood of your emails being opened is becoming increasingly slim.

With RSS, your messages won’t ever get filtered and have a much higher chance of actually being read vs. a typical email. And your marketing results can only be better when people actually read your message. You can even incorporate autoresponders in conjunction with RSS.

Including RSS feeds on your content site or blog allows you to add fully dynamic theme-related content to your web pages making your site or blog very popular with the search engines. The constantly updated content is exactly what the search engines crave and helps increase your search engine ranking, driving more traffic to your page.

Probably the best way to use RSS to help your online marketing efforts is to create your own RSS feed. This way your information will be published on any website that is using the RSS feed you are supplying that information to. There’s even automated software to submit your RSS feeds to the various directories that supply the feeds to marketers using them as described above.

RSS is still a relatively unknown method of driving traffic to websites, but is becoming more popular every day. As an internet marketer, this is a great opportunity to take advantage of this new technology before the rest of the online gurus jump on the bandwagon.

The PP?, best online media buying stategies

Filed under: — site admin @ 1:28 pm

Search engine marketing refers to the topic of encompassing many aspects of search engine optimization and e-marketing / e-commerce activites.

Some of these e-marketing techniques are:

Buying online media : Purchasing clicks or impressions or leads is a popular way to get traffic to your site. I will further break these categories down to explain how they work.

Pay per Click (PPC) : This means that you pay X amount of dollars per click. The big players in this area are google and yahoo. You can bid on keywords for a minimum amount (generally 5 to 10 cents a click) to get qualified traffic to your site. Of course there are some issues of click fraud, so factor that into the cost per click

Pay Per Immpression (PPI) Not to be confused with pay per inclusion. This is traditionally known as buying placement of an banner ad. For this you would buy X amount of impressions at a rate of 1000 impressions. Prices like this range from a few dollars per thousand impressions to hundreds of dollars. The more targeted your traffic is then the more the cost will be.

Pay per lead (PPL) This is the idea that you will pay someone X amount per transaction. Typically some company will want leads to follow up on and they will pay for each lead that is not bogus. Prices range from a few cents to hundreds of dollars depending on what the lead is for. It all depends on what the lead is being used to generate and how qualified the lead has to be.
